The first quarter's 24Q return (April–June) is due 31 July every year — one of the busiest filing windows since it follows immediately after the financial year-end close for many businesses.
Employee-wise salary and TDS details for April, May, and June payments, along with challan details for tax deposited during the quarter. Unlike Q4, Q1 doesn't require the full annual salary breakup (Annexure II) — that's reserved for the year-end filing.
The most common Q1 mistake is incomplete deductee data carried over from the previous year not being updated for new joiners or exits. Checking this a week before the deadline — rather than on 31 July itself — avoids the crunch. Our Due Date Calendar can send reminders ahead of this and every other quarter's deadline.
31 July, covering salary payments made in April, May, and June of that financial year.
No — Annexure II with the full annual salary breakup is only required in the Q4 (final quarter) 24Q return.
Outdated deductee/employee data that hasn't been updated for new joiners or employees who've left since the last quarter.
NSDL-approved, cloud-based, and used by 10,000+ businesses for error-free TDS/TCS filing.
